Universitas Prasetiya Mulya was founded in 1980 by a group of prominent businessmen and then established in 1982 with assistance from prestigious international institutions as the first to offer the MBA program in Indonesia.
In early 2016, the institution achieved a milestone moment by becoming Universitas Prasetiya Mulya and it remains the leading private business education program provider in the country, upholding the original aims of the founders to offer the highest standards in business and management education for graduates, undergraduates and executives. Under Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, the institution will place greater priority on the field of applied Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In keeping with this recent development, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya makes available a number of new study programs including Food and Business Technology, Energy Engineering, and Tourism Business among others.
Being founded by members of the country’s business community has ensured an effective balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application within the curriculum. With a renewed focus under Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, faculty members have designed a cross-sector curriculum therefore further strengthening its capability to produce work-ready graduates. To cater to the corporate sector, the school offers both degree and non-degree programs as well as research and training for individuals, local companies, and major multinationals.
Referring to the Law (UU No. 20 of 2003) and Government Regulation (PP No.19 of 2005) also other policies of higher education that emphasizes quality and public accountability, it is necessary for Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics (PMSBE) to have accreditation on its programs. Master Program (S2) accredited superior or “A” since the year 2000. Whereas in 2010, the undergraduate program officially receive accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (BAN) and obtained 374 (very good) from a scale of 400. This accreditation rating has been using new forms of accreditation (Borang) which include the legal aspects of government policies and accreditation processes that accepted internationally.

After five years been registered as a member of The Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB), Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics (PMSBE) approached a level higher by applying for accreditation from AACSB, which is recognized at the international level. Currently (PMSBE) is at the stage of pre-eligibility. With this accreditation, it means (PMSBE), including alumni, are internationally recognized.
Prasetiya Mulya Undergraduate Program continuously develops team-building spirit in a four-year of the study period. This process is starting with an out-bound activity for new students, team-based project assignment, leadership workshop, and final business project at the end of the program, as shown in the pictures below. This program is integrated into the learning process as a whole, in getting along the students with social interaction and working conditions in the real business situation. The students have deal with multiculturalism in the team and environment, to attain maturity with broad perspectives. Besides concepts, some subjects in the program will cover practical knowledge with the existing programs such as S1 Business, S1 Marketing, S1 Accounting, S1 Finance, S1 Banking, S1 Tourism Business, S1 Business Economics, and S1 Event Program.
Prasetiya Mulya Business School offers Master Program (MM) individually designed and targeted at different goals. These are the MM Business Innovation (Full Time), MM Managing Business Innovation and Executive MM – Strategic Business Innovation programs. The curriculum for the MM Programs are adjusted periodically to keep pace with development in the business world and also, regional and international focus is given that require students to be aware of socio-cultural changes, thus ensuring students are prepared for all the challenges they will encounter upon graduation and in their workplace.
