Forest Harvest Community-based NTFP Enterprise (CBNE) Forum is a forum for communities, NGOs, entrepreneurs, and institutions engaged in NTFP (Non-Timber Forest Products), which include any biological material other than wood taken from the forest for human use. The forum organized a Hackathon which is one of the main activities that aims to create brilliant ideas related to NTFP enterprise which was attended by participants from several countries such as Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Nepal with various backgrounds such as students, programmers, NGOs, entrepreneurs, professors, and researchers. It was held from June 1st to June 5th, 2021. One of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya School of Applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics students took part in the hackathon. It was Gede Herry Arum Wijaya (Renewable Energy Engineering 2017). Herry was in a team with 2 other Indonesians who are one of the exporters of NTFP products in Indonesia and a social worker at the Warsi Forest Conservation Community, Jambi. They are working on the idea of The Center of Excellent for Organic Rice Innovation which combines BCG (Business, Community, Government) with the concept of a circular economy based on community development. Their idea is as a solution so that organic rice farming continues in a sustainable manner and improves the quality of life of farmers so as not to damage the forest in Sumatera. His idea was inspirational. It made him and his team won 1st Place in this international competition. Let’s congratulate Herry!
Silver Medal Awardee at INTOC 2021 in the Physics and Engineering category
The International Science Project Competition is an online-based international competition in the field of research organized by the International Online Class (INTOC) Global. It is the continuation of the National Invention Project Contest (NIPC). This competition aims to encourage young people and international organizations to unite young minds who are productive and continue to innovate, and provide solutions to real world problems. Since this is the continuation of NIPC, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya School of Applied Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics who succeeded in NIPC represented our school to the international round. Ni Made Adelia Felita Anggreni (Renewable Energy Engineering 2020), Dhafin Faza Anwar (Renewable Energy Engineering 2020), and Gede Herry Arum Wijaya (Renewable Energy Engineering) had the opportunity to bring back the research "Easy-Go An Innovation of Mobile Apps for Electric Vehicle Services to Encourage The Transition Into Electric Transport In Indonesia" at INTOC 2021 in the Physics and Engineering category and compete with 186 teams from 21 countries consisting of 5 competition categories. The event was held online from May 1st to June 5th, 2021. On this occasion, the team of undergraduate students in Renewable Energy Engineering was awarded the Silver Medal. 3rd Winner of Tour Package Competition in the 4th National Tourism Student Championship 2021
Diploma IV Tourism Management of IPB International held the 4th National Tourism Student Championship 2021. The championship is open for high school and university students around Indonesia. The theme this year was “Restart Tourism, Make It Great Again”. There were several competitions in the 4th NTSC: Call for Paper, Business Plan, Short Movie, Tour Package, TikTok, Latte Art, and Tour Guiding. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are always ready to compete. They see competitions as a way to maximize their learning experience. Through competing, the students will learn to implement their knowledge, to hone their skills, and to expand their network. We have students participating in the Tour Package Competition. For the tour package competition, the participants must register as a team. The theme was “Sustainable Tourism (Socio-cultural-Economical-Environmental).” The participants can choose from 5 Super Priority Destinations: Danau Toba, Likupang, Borobudur, Mandalika, and Labuan Bajo. Once they created their package, their submission would be judged. Not only they submitted the package, they also created a presentation video. We are happy that our students made it as one of the Top 5 Finalists. In the final round, the finalist presented their package online to a panel of judges. They also answered questions. The final round was held in June 3rd, 2021. Our students won 3rd Place. 3rd Winner of the Poster Competition in NESCO 2021
NESCO 2021 is a national competition in the electricity sector. It is organized by Badan Semi Otonom Magatrika of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The official theme this year was “Power Innovation: Exploring Possibilities in Electricity.” There were several competitions in NESCO 2021. The first one is paper competition bringing up the theme of “Renewable Energy Sustainability for Nation Development. The second one is poster competition and the last one is video competition. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya School of Applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics students are also very competitive. We have a student taking part in the Poster Competition. She had to choose between three sub-themes: Renewable Energy as the Main Source of Electricity, the Role and Impact of Electricity Use for Countries, and Safety Methods to use Electricity. Ayu Narsih, a Renewable Energy Engineering undergraduate student, brought up the idea of LIWEL (Solid Waste to Electricity) which means utilizing solid waste into a source of electrical energy. In her poster, Ayu Narsih described the problem of solid waste that is dominated by organic waste. Organic waste will produce a large amount of methane gas and will disturb the environment if left buried everywhere. Therefore, the gas produced in this waste is used as biogas which can be used to drive a generator and generate electricity, as well as fertilizer for liquid and solid waste. Her hardwork resulted in winning 3rd in the Poster Competition of NESCO 2021. Let’s congratulate Ayu Narsih (Renewable Energy Engineering 2018).
Best Start Award in "Step into the Future" of the International Online
The International Online-Forum of Scientific Youth “Step into the Future” is organized by the Russian Youth Engineering Society of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. It is an international competition but also a platform for discovering best young researchers and innovators. Themes of the Forum cover all focal points in natural, engineering and socio-humanitarian sciences. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya School of Applied Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students didn’t hesitate to participate in the “Step into the Future”. Gede Herry Arum Wijaya (Renewable Energy Engineering 2017) and I Dewa Agung Ary Aditya Wibawa (Software Engineering 2019) represented our university and our country. They competed against students from 22 countries int the Engineering category. Herry and Adit proposed their innovation of Intelligent Battery Energy Storage System (i-Bess). It is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to predict the State of Charge in the battery for optimization of the charging process. The competition started on March 22nd, 2021 and ended on April 30th, 2021. They won the Best Start title in the Engineering category which competed with 18 finalist teams in this category. 1st Place Winner in the Entrepreneur Business Challenge Competition 2021
The youngest faculty in UNIKA Widya Mandala, Faculty of Entrepreneurship, organized a national competition called "Entrepreneur Business Challenge Competition 2021". This year’s theme was “Sustainable Business Ideas to Enter The New Normal Era.” The target participants are undergraduate students from universities across Indonesia. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students who are known for its competitiveness, didn’t hesitate to participate in the Entrepreneur Business Challenge Competition 2021. They registered as a team (two to four persons per team) and they have to design or create innovative business idea that is sustainable and applicable in the new normal era. Once the students registered, they are required to submit their Business Model Canvas and Poster. Then their submissions were selected to decide the top 20 participants. Our students made it to the next round where they submitted their proposal. Who represented us in this competition? It was Cynthia Hugo (Business 2020), Jonathan Evan Christian (Business Mathematics 2020), and Nathasia (Business 2020). Their business idea was Powderful. Powderful is a high-quality food powder made from real fruit or vegetables that is processed using freeze drying technology, then converted into a powder to extend its shelf life from a few days to 1 to 2 years, without using preservatives or other ingredients. Powderful's uniqueness is its business model that is sustainable (because it fulfils the triple bottom line concept, namely people, planet, and profit) and is also innovative (because it has an exclusive partnership with the government, social foundations, and companies to solve the problem of food waste and malnutrition in Indonesia). The submitted proposals from the participants were judged again then the committee announced the Top 10 Finalists. We are proud that our team made it to the final round where they presented their ideas online. The competition was held on April 17th to May 10th, 2021. Their idea and hardwork brought great result. 2nd Place Winner of BREXPLOR Branding Competition 2021
BREXPLOR Branding Competition is the first national branding competition organized by Universitas Prasetiya Mulya. It is a part of BREXPLOR 2021 and it is open for high school and undergraduate students. The competition offers benefits for the participants such as gaining network, getting new insights through workshops, and getting experience to solve real case from well-known company. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are very competitive and they want to maximize their learning experiences through competition. Knowing that BREXPLOR Branding Competition is held by our own university, it is no surprise that we have many students taking part in this competition. The participating students are required to register as a team. Once they registered, they must join the case distribution and networking session. They also received Branding Development workshop prior submitting their proposal. After the selection process, the committee announced 15 Finalists for both high school and university category. The finalists had to perform a rocket pitch in front of the judges. We are proud to announce the success of our students in BREXPLOR Branding Competition 2021. 2nd Place Winner of the International Design Competition for Health Protocol Supporting Product
Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta celebrated its 45th Anniversary with a series of events. Among the events, UNS held several international competitions from February to March 2021. Nine international competitions announced their winners in this closing ceremony are the International Sports Industry Essay Competition, International Sustainable Development Goals’ Essay Competition, International Covid-19 Essay Competition, International Content Creator for Social Media Competition, International Business Model Canvas Competition, International E-learning Essay Competition, International Game Online Development Competition, International IoT Challenge, and International Design Competition for Health Protocol Supporting Product. Knowing the opportunity to compete, to create new ideas, and to have international exposures, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students were enthusiastic to participate. We have a team from our School of Applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics who represented us in the International Design Competition for Health Protocol Supporting Product. The participants were challenged to make a product that is designed as a solution in implementing a new normal lifestyle to minimize the impact of Covid-19 transmission. On this occasion, Carles P. Lumban Gaol (S1 Product Design Engineering 2019) and Nadya F. Lusiana Sihotang (S1 Software Engineering 2019) created a product idea called Vita "Medical devices for self-care in a new normal era". Vita is a portable hand sanitizer in a bottle that can be carried anywhere and is equipped with a thermometer at the bottom of the bottle. The combination with a thermometer can be useful for users to find out their body temperature during their activities. Their idea lead them to winning 2nd Place in the International Design Competition for Health Protocol Supporting Product. Let’s congratulate Carles and Nadya for their achievement.
1st Winner & Best Paper Award of the 6th Management Euphoria 2021 Marketing Competition
Centre of Management Institut Pertanian Bogor organized the 6th Management Euphoria 2021 Marketing Competition. It is an annual and national competition for students across Indonesia. This year’s theme was “Creative Digital Marketing As a Strategic Solution in a New World of Speed and Agility.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are always enthusiastic in competitions. It is one way to implement our knowledge while enriching it. The students can also enhance other skills and expand their network through competitions. The 6th Management Euphoria 2021 Marketing Competition required students to register as a team of three. Subsequently, the participants submitted their paper to be judged. The representative team of our university was announced as one of the Top 10. They were then asked to prepare a video for the advertising video session. Then the top 10 participants presented their work in front of the judges virtually. Our students successfully resolved the case of Dairycious Yogurt on the development of brand knowledge, digital platforms and market penetration outside Java. Their hard work and good analysis paid off. They won 1st place and Best Paper award. 1st Winnr of Undergraduate Business Case Competition of Ganesha Business Festival 2021
Ganesha Business Festival 2021 was organized by SBM-ITB. There were High School Business Plan Competition and Undergraduate Business Case Competition. It is a national competition targeting students from across the country. For the Undergraduate Business Case Competition, the theme was “Maximizing Opportunities from Shifting Consumer Behavior towards The Green Business Trend.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students took part in Ganesha Business Festival 2021, particularly in the business case competition. As competitive as they may be, our students are always up to challenge and do not want to miss out on opportunities to implement and enrich their knowledge and skill. To participate in the Undergraduate Business Case Competition, students are required to form a team (minimum 2 and maximum 3 students) from the same university. Once the registration period was closed, the committee distributed the case for the participants and they must submit their proposal. They received on coaching session prior the selection period. Our students made it as the Top 10 and went through another coaching session. This competition also provided the participants with exclusive mentoring session. They made and submitted their presentation material. Our students made their final presentation virtually. Their case was “Making a Full Life Cycle of Cascara Coffee Cherries”. They won 1st place. Successful Students in the Kegiatan Berwirausaha Mahasiswa Indonesia (KBMI) 2021
The Directorate of Learning and Students Affairs of the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, reorganized their annual Program Kewirausahaan Mahasiswa Indonesia (PKMI) that consisted of Kegiatan Berwirausaha Mahasiswa Indonesia (KBMI) dan Akselerasi Startup Mahasiswa Indonesia (ASMI). These two events will finance the students’ businesses. The objective of these events are to foster and support students for entrepreneurship. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are very driven and competitive. Most of them also envision to having a business in the future. Therefore, we are excited knowing we have representatives in this competition. It will also give benefit to our students such as larger network through Indonesia Student Entrepreneurship Network (ISEN) and most importantly, their business will be funded. They will learn from successful entrepreneurs in Indonesia too. Our students registered as a team of five and with one mentor. They are required to propose a a non-digital business plan. Winners in the National Paper Competition 2021
UKI Paulus, UNMAS Denpasar, UNDIRA, UNPAK organized a National Paper Competition 2021. It is opened for all students from higher education institutions across Indonesia. The theme was “Akuntansi di Tengah Pandemi: Mengangkat Kearifan Lokal Melalui Berbagai Paradigma.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students seem to be able to maintain their enthusiasm for competition during the pandemic. It is still a good way to enhance their skill and knowledge. Therefore, it is no surprise that we have representatives in this competition. The students must register as a team of three and submitted their full paper. They could choose from the following sub-themes: Social & Culture, Education, Environment and Renewable Energy, Creative Economy, and Multiparadigm Accounting. Once the paper was submitted, the committee judged the submissions to get 10 Finalists. We are proud that we have two teams in the Final Round. They presented their paper online on April 26th, 2021. Our students won 3rd and 4th place in this competition. National Winner of L'Oreal Brandstorm 2021
L’Oréal annually organized a competition named L’Oréal Brandstorm. This year mission was “Invent the Beauty Shopping Experience through Entertainment.” It is a global competition that requires the participants to win national round prior representing their country in the global round. The benefits of partaking in this competition are having a chance to crack a real business case with the team, enjoying a fun international experience, boosting the skills through the learning journey, and discovering L’Oréal culture and career opportunities. L’Oréal Brandstorm is open for undergraduate students across the country. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students know about this competition and we always have representatives. We also had one who went to the final global round. Therefore, the active students are also eager to make the same achievements. The participants are required to form a team of three but it can be from different university too. We have students participating in the L’Oréal Brandstorm 2021 who made it to the final national round on February 21th, 2021. One team with three students and another team with one of our students. The finalists presented their paper and answered questions from the judges. It was a tough round to be competing in. Veronica Lila Novesaria (Business 2020) along with her high school mates from ITB and BINUS won 1st Place and will represent Indonesia in the International Final. 2nd Winner of Essay Competition COLLAB 2020
Management program of UPN Veteran Jakarta organized an essay competition on 2020. It is called COLLAB 2020. The theme of the competition was “Millennials? Breakthrough the excellence, building the future.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are always open to challenges. Our campus has one representative in this competition. She submitted an essay about digital economy perspective on contribution in GDP and Business Growth in Indonesia. The winner announcement was on November 29th, 2020. Our student won 2nd Place. 1st Winner of Business Case Competition in Tarumanagara Business Competition V
Tarumanagara Business Competition V is a national competition held annually which consisted of Business Case Competition and Stock Research Competition. It is organized by Ikatan Mahasiswa Manajemen Tarumanagara (IMMANTA). This year’s theme was “INCEPTION” and the tagline was “Increase the Power of MIllenials to Deal with Many Options.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are always eager to compete because it is a medium to implement their skill while it also opens the opportunity to enhance their skill and knowledge and to expand their network. The pandemic didn’t stop our students to participate in the Tarumanagara Business Case Competition. Students from across the nation must register as a team of three. We have students in this competition like previous years. There were three rounds in this competition: the preliminary round, presentation round, and debate round; which were all conducted online. In the preliminary round, our students submitted their case solving report to be assessed. The judges selected 10 top reports to go to the next round. We are very proud knowing our students went through to the presentation and debate round which was held on 12-13 April 2021. In the debate round, the motion was “RUU CIpta Kerja Jadi Solusi Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Indonesia”. Their hard work as a team paid off. They won 1st Place in the Business Case Competition. 1st Winner of the Travel Writing Competition in the Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021
Previously, we announced the success of our students in the Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021. It is organized by Politeknik Pariwisata Bali to commemorate their 43rd Dies Natalis. The theme of this year Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021 is “Advancing Young Generation Capabilities by Discovering Passion Through Creativity.” As informed before, there are several competition categories: Tourism Promotion Video, Hospitality Accounting, Travel Writing, Front Office, Art Event Proposal, Tourism Essay, and Food Business Plan. Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021 targeted undergraduate students across Indonesia. Knowing the opportunity to enrich their experience, the highly competitive students of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya took part in this competition. We have known that we have students representing our campus in the Tourism Essay Competition and Art Event Proposal Competition which they won. To add the list, we have students participated in the Travel Writing category. Ni Wayan Padmayoni (Hospitality Business 2018) entered the competition with her writing titled "Maha Gangga Valley: Harmonisation of Agriculturist and Tourism". This piece was judged and it lead her to winning 1st Place in the Travel Writing Competition of the Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021. Let’s congratulate her!
2nd Winner of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2021
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual financial competition. It challenges university students on their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills. It also provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. They gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst. Participants are required to form teams of three to five undergraduate and/or graduate students. They will be asked to comprehensively research and analyze a designated publicly traded company and subsequently they prepare a written report on that company. This year, the participants must analyze PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR). The competition was held on February 26th, 2021. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are regular participants in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. Then it is no surprise we also have representative in this competition this year. Our students successfully won 2nd Place and they were up against teams from Universitas Indonesia. Gold Medal Awardee in ISTEC 2021
ISTEC (International Science, Technology, and Engineering Competition) 2021 was organized by Bandung Creative Society. It is an international level of research, invention, and innovation competition for elementary, junior high school, senior high school, and college students. This year, it was held on April 2nd to April 5th 2021 at PPPPTK Bandung, Indonesia. There are 3 main categories: science (physics, biology, social science, pharmacy, etc.), technology (computer, artificial intelligence, IoT, etc.), and engineering (biotechnology, medical engineering, civil engineering, etc.) The level of ISTEC 2021 is very appealing to Universitas Prasetiya Mulya School of Applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics students. Our students from Food Business Technology registered into the competition as a team of 2 and 1 mentor. There were 67 teams from 11 countries, such as Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay, Yemen, Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, Azerbaijan, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, participated in ISTEC 2021. I Kadek Juni Saputra (Food Business Technology 2018) and Dewa Restu Putu Adi Widhiana (Food Business Technology 2018) took part in the science category. They were up against team from The Union of Arab Academics, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Mataram, and Universitas Andalas. They exhibited their research and innovation called “In Silico Studies for Identification Anti Colorectal Cancer Phytocompounds from Macroalgae as Nutraceutical Food through Beta-Catenin Protein Pathway”. Their research explored the potential of phytocompounds in algae for anti-colorectal cancer. 3rd Winner of the 18th ECONOMIX Paper Competition
ECONOMIX is an annual international event organized by FEB Universitas Indonesia. The 18th ECONOMIX: Global Economic Challenges grand theme is “The Planet in Climate Crisis: A Repercussion of Ignorance.” ECONOMIX is a series of events: Seminar, Economix Model United Nations (Economix MUN), Paper Competition, and Mini Essay Competition. Knowing the scale of the event and the opportunity to expand their knowledge and network, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students didn’t skip the opportunity. We have students participating in the paper competition. They submitted their work and were announced as one of the 10 Top Teams alongside with teams from Universitas Indonesia, Melbourne University, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Parahyangan, and Bangladesh University of Professionals. The delegates were selected into 6 Finalists and our team made it to the final stage. The finalists will be presenting and be judged by professional adjudicators. The event was held from 28th February to 4th March, 2021. We are proud to announce that our students won 3rd Place in the 18th ECONOMIX Paper Competition. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya Students' Successes in the Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021
Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021 is organized by Politeknik Pariwisata Bali to commemorate their 43rd Dies Natalis. The theme of this year Bali Tourism Polytechnic Competition 2021 is “Advancing Young Generation Capabilities by Discovering Passion Through Creativity.” There are several competition categories: Tourism Promotion Video, Hospitality Accounting, Travel Writing, Front Office, Art Event Proposal, Tourism Essay, and Food Business Plan. Since the competition is targeting all undergraduate students across Indonesia, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are taking the opportunity. They are very competitive and they are eager to enrich their experiences. We have students participating in some of the categories. We have a student registered for the Tourism Essay Competition and Art Event Proposal Competition. Alexander Bryan (Food Business Technology 2020) won 4th Place in Tourism Essay Competition with the title "Membangun Nilai-Nilai Warisan Arsitektur Melalui Narasi Dan Cipta Ruang". Since the Art Event Proposal Competition is in team, we have more students to be proud of. We have a team winning the 1st place and the other team took on the 2nd place. Winning in the India Taekwondo League Individual Open International Championship
India Dojang Sports Organisation and Kukkiwon organized a sport championship virtually. The India Taekwondo League Individual Open International Championship on December 11th to December 12th, 2021. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are not only attracted to scholarly competitions but also to sports championship. Our campus supports the students fully. One of our students take part in the India Taekwondo League Individual Open International Championship 2020. She participated in two categories: Kyorugi and Poomsae. Despite being held online, Lakeshia Erlino Kuswoyo (Food Business Technology 2017) showed her skill and won two titles. She won 1st Place on Female Senior Kyorugi Combinations and 2nd Place on Female under 30 Poomsae Individual. Let’s congratulate Lakeshia!
Winning the 1st Online Hapkido Championship
Hapkido is a Korean martial art. The South East Asia Hapkido Union (SEAHU) together with Hapkido Indonesia Association organized the 1st online Hapkido Championships on March 6th – 7th, 2021, to ensure the athletes will be able to compete in a safe environment. This championship is opened for all members of World Hapkido Martial Arts Federation (WHMAF) affiliated association located in every city, state, or country. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya supports its students in academic and non-academic development. The students’ interests are also facilitated. If our students want to compete in business competition or sports competition, they are fully supported. Kharis Satria Mudali (Branding 2019) decided to join the 1st Online Hapkido Championship. He won 3rd Place on Mugisul Gum Hyung Advance Senior A and 4th Place on Hyung Advance Senior Male. Let’s congratulate Kharis.
2nd Winner of IMPACT 2021 National Business Case Analysis Competition
Universitas Bunda Mulia Management Study Program organized the IMPACT 2021 (Inspiration for Management Planning and Action). IMPACT 2021 National Business Case Analysis Competition is held again this year for undergraduate students across Indonesia. The theme is “Business Strategy Post Pandemic.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are keeping themselves busy during the pandemic. Competing is one of the preferred activities. It’s no surprise that we have representative in IMPACT 2021. The participants must register as a team of three. Then they submit their paper to be assessed. Our students were announced as one of the Top 10 finalists. They continued with creating their video presentation. Natasha Angela (Finance 2018), Natasya Gaby Taslim (Finance 2018), and Prika Adeline (Finance 2018) won 2nd Place in the IMPACT 2021 National Business Case Analysis Competition. 1st Runner Up of Equity Research Conference in the 20th Indonesia Capital Market Student Studies
Management Student Society Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia (MSS FEB UI) organized the 20th Indonesia Capital Market Student Studies (ICMSS). This year, the ICMSS is conducted online from the 14th of February to the 20th with the grand theme “The Great Dissonance: Insights from an Enigmatic Market Ecosystem.” The event consisted of Capital Market Webinar, Investment Training, and Equity Research Conference. The Equity Research Conference is an international competition for undergraduate students. The participants are required to make their recommendation whether to buy, hold or sell one of the stocks in the Call for Delegates booklet. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are always eager to compete in a prestigious and well-known event such as this one. They perceive that they can implement their skill and knowledge as well as enriching their experiences. The participants must form a team of three to register. The registration period began in the last quarter of 2020. They also must submit their report. These reports were reviewed and judged to announce the top 24 teams. We have three teams representing Universitas Prasetiya Mulya in the top 24 stage: Golf Capital, Independent Ladies, and The Snapper. The Grand Final of Equity Research Conference were held on 17th February 2021. Each team must present their report in front of prominent judges from Credit Suisse, Macquaire Group, HSBC Indonesia, CFA Indonesia, etc. Our teams compete against students from National University of Singapore, Melbourne University, Thammasat University, University of the Philippines Diliman, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and other Indonesian universities. One of our team won 2nd Place in the Equity Research Conference. Let’s congratulate Owen Lim (Finance 2019), Fernando Yunior (Finance 2018), and Laurentius Farell Limanto (Finance 2018). And Owen was also awarded the “Best Case Study Presentation” in the 20th Indonesia Capital market Student Studies.
2nd Winner of Mile Zero Project Competition
Mile Zero Project is a series of events organized in partnership with Microsoft, Schneider Electric, RISTEK-BRIN, ITB, and IEEE ITB Student Branch. One of the events is a problem-solving competition for undergraduate students across Indonesia. The theme is “Driving Economic Innovation and Sustainability in Challenging Times with AI”. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are always open for opportunities to enrich and apply their knowledge, including through competitions. The Mile Zero Project competition has 2 main stages: preliminary idea submission and 10-days Project Sprint for Top 10 teams. The participants must choose to solve one out of 4 cases: campus digitalization, energy & sustainability, healthcare, and small medium enterprises. Being in the Top 10 teams, the participants received exclusive training by Microsoft about Advanced Azure and by Schneider Electric about Business Plan and Design Thinking. Then they went into the 10-days project sprint before the pitching day. The awarding took place on the same day as the summit, on February 27th, 2021. We are very proud that our representative won 2nd Place. Silver Medal and Bronze Medal Awardee in the 3rd National Invention Project Contest 2021
Indonesia Scientific Society organized the 3rd National Invention Project Contest (NIPC) 2021. This is the place where the young Indonesian generation compete their creativity in the field of invention. NIPC is also the place to select Indonesian Teams that will be registered to international scientific competitions. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya School of Applied Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students are eager to take part in the 3rd NIPC 2021. In this competition, students can register individually or as a team of two. The participants can choose one theme from provided themes (renewable energy, information & communication technology, education, environmental friendly technology, etc.). The competition was held from February 16th, 2021 to March 6th, 2021. The first step is registering their abstract of their invention product. We have teams that were eligible and moved forward to the semifinal stage. It is where the participants prepared and showcased their poster about their invention along with virtual exhibition through a video. We have two teams from STEM that made it to the final round. The first team submitted their invention “Ec-Go (Easy Go) Aplikasi Penyedia Kebutuhan Kendaraan Listrik Guna Mendorong Pergerakan Transportasi Listrik di Indonesia” to support the electric vehicles program in Indonesia. The other team made a digital platform called Digital Interior Kriya Indonesia (DIKI) with artificial intelligence and augmented reality features to help local artisan to market their products. Let’s congratulate Ni Made Adelia F.A. (Renewable Energy Engineering 2020) and Dhafin Faza Anwar (Renewable Energy Engineering 2020) who was awarded Silver Medal for their Ec-Go and Ni Putu Mas Swandewi (Software Engineering 2020) and Valen Meicheilla Ishen (Software Engineering 2020) who received Bronze Medal for their Digital Interior Kriya.
1st Place National Winner of P&G CEO Challenge 2021
P&G CEO Challenge is an annual competition for students. It is a competition that will test the students’ skill for business strategy and real-life problem-solving. It is a global competition that is divided into national rounds, regional, and global round. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are familiar with P&G CEO Challenge and they are eager to take part. In this competition, the participants are Bachelor or Master’s degree students and in a team of three. Since it is open for students cross university, one of our students team up with a student from Universitas Parahyangan and BINUS. They call themselves team Antareja. They carried out a strategy to increase the visibility of P&G products in retail and choose online channels by browsing the Content, Assortment, Ratings & Reviews, and Search of one of P&G's products. By conducting primary and secondary research, information about product excellence, customer journey online shopper, and emerging trend keywords is obtained. In addition, they also strategized in organizing the product placement, adjusting images and information that convey the right value proposition that the consumers are looking for. They utilized seasonal promos and bundling according to primary target preferences, to use algorithm-based ads and external platforms by taking into account the potential for sales growth. obtained from the results of these interventions. 3rd Winnerof Business Plan Competition by Jakarta Students Innovation - Universitas Indonesia
Jakarta Students Innovation is an innovation-based student association in Universitas Indonesia that assists students by developing leadership skills and supporting them to explore the world of game-changing entrepreneurship. As a new association, they organized a National Business Plan Competition with the theme “Empowering Society to Make an Impact for the Economic Development of Indonesia.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students continue to seek for opportunities to implement their skill and knowledge as well as enriching their experiences. We have students participating in this competition. The participants are undergraduate students across the country. They can register individually or as a team of two to three. After registration, the participants must submit their business proposal. It will be judged to determine the finalist. Our students made it to the final round. They competed against teams from Universitas Padjajaran, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Brawijaya, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Telkom University, Universitas Indonesia, and Binus University. Audry Gita Amanda (Business 2019) and Ghina Tsabitanisa Kusumajadi (Business 2019) teamed up as The Golden Squad. Their business idea is a telemedicine app to support mental health for Indonesians. With their idea, they won 3rd Place. Let’s congratulate Audry and Ghina for their success!
Duta Hijau Bali Runner Up
Duta Hijau Bali is an event to select young ambassadors that focus on environmental, socio-cultural, education, and tourism program of Bali. They are selected from all districts and cities in Bali. The main task is to educate the younger generation to be more concerned and aware about the environment (natural and social), to provide creative and innovative solutions or ideas, to collaborate with the government and several policy makers so that Bali can become better. One of our students was in the selection process where she learned many valuable things. We are proud to announce that Ni Putu Sukma Aryanti (Business Mathematics 2018) managed to get Runner Up 1 and Best Intelligence award.
2nd Winner of IndiHome Business Case Competition
Telkom Indonesia organized the 1st IndiHome Business Case Competition (IBCC). It is a regional case study competition for undergraduate students in Jabodetabek area. The main objective of this event is to provide opportunities for participants to show their talents in writing and presenting innovative ideas to solve business cases within a predetermined framework. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are always open to new challenges. Their competing spirit is also high. Knowing that there is a chance to showcase their ability whilst improving their skills too, it is no doubt that our students will participate in the competition. The participants must register as a team of three. Subsequently, the committee distributed the case online. From there, the participants must prepare a paper and a video to be submitted. The judges commenced their review and the committee announced the 15 finalists. Our students was one of the 15 finalists. They continued to the final stage on February 16th, 2021. They competed against teams from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Universitas Tarumanegara, Universitas Pelita Harapan, and Institut Pertanian Bogor. We are very happy to find out that our only team turned out as the 2nd Winner of the 1st IndiHome Business Case Competition. 1st Winner of Business Case Competition in Alek Gadang Masyarakat Ekonomi 2021 by Universitas Andalas
Faculty of Economics Universitas Andalas organized an event called Alek Gadang Masyarakat Ekonomi 2021. It consisted of two competitions: scientific writing competition and business case competition. The competitions are for undergraduate students from across Indonesia. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are eager to compete. They want to apply their knowledge and to expand their network. In addition, they also believe that they can also learn new things through their competition experience. It is no surprise that our students participate in the Alek Gadang Masyarakat Ekonomi 2021 Business Case Competition. The participants must register as a team of three. The theme for the business case competition is “Membangun Generasi Digitalpreneur yang Kreatif, Inovatif serta Mampu Bersaing di Era 4.0” (Building a creative and innovative Digitalpreneur Generation who can Compete in the 4.0 Era). The participants began by submitting their proposal to be selected. Our representative became one of the 10 finalists. Our team competed by bringing their creation called Local Inc. It is a hosting family and itinerary apps from tourists. Their hardwork paid off. They won 1st place. 1st Winner of the 10th UI Studentpreneurs Business Plan Competition 2021
UI Studentpreneurs is an annual entrepreneurship event organized by students of FEB Universitas Indonesia. This year is the 10th UI Studentpreneurs and it still consisted of three main events: Business Plan Competition, National Seminar, and Young Entrepreneurs Summit. We have the vision to create a positive impact by delivering meaningful outcomes. The grand theme of the 10th UI Studentpreneurs is “Toward Innovation-driven Economy: Incorporating Innovation-based Strategy to Prevail in the New Business Development Era.” Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students are very competitive. We always have representatives in the UI Studentpreneurs Business Plan Competition each year. Not only that, they became winners. With the exposure and opportunity to develop their skills and expand their network, our students participated in the 10th UI Studentpreneurs. Participants are required to register as a team of 3-4 students. They must submit their paper for selection and we are grateful that our students were announced as one of the Top 10 Teams. They undergone a training and mentoring session before they performed their business pitch. The final stage was hel online on February 11th, 2021. Our students made a great achievement in this national competition. They won 1st place in the Business Plan Competition of the 10th UI Studentpreneurs. Gold Medal Awardee in Kompetisi Sains Indonesia - Economics
Pelatihan Olimpiade Sains Indonesia organized a national science competition for higher education institution students named “Kompetisi Sains Indonesia.” The contested fields are Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Computer, Astronomy, and English. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students understand how they can maximize their learning experience even during the pandemic. We have a student who registered in this competition. It’s an opportunity for students to apply their skills whilst learning. The competition was held online on February 14th, 2021.
