Quality Assurance Unit (UPM)

Quality assurance activities at the School of Business and Economics (SBE), Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, are independently designed, implemented, and managed by the SBE Quality Assurance Unit (UPM). SBE UPM implements the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) by referring to the National Higher Education Standards (SN Dikti), University Standards, and the standards of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Furthermore, in developing the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) instruments at SBE, UPM also refers to accreditation instruments issued by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT), the Independent Accreditation Agency for Economics, Management, Business and Accounting (LAMEMBA), the Independent Accreditation Agency for Tourism (LAMWISATA), as well as AACSB. SBE UPM continuously strives to implement the SPMI consistently and sustainably, ensuring that quality assurance processes in both academic and non-academic areas can be carried out effectively and meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders.

To ensure the planned and sustainable delivery of quality higher education, a quality assurance system (SPM) is required, including at the school or faculty level. To support the implementation of this SPM, the Dean of SBE established UPM on September 4, 2017, through Dean’s Decree No. 0/3/3623/09/17/06/01. Led by a Head who reports directly to the Dean of SBE, SBE UPM is responsible for ensuring the implementation of both the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) and the External Quality Assurance System (SPME) or Accreditation within SBE. The organizational structure of SBE UPM consists of two sub-units: SPMI and Accreditation. These units support the achievement of the SBE Mission 2024-2028: “Educating business learners to have entrepreneurial competencies by providing innovative solutions for the advancement of business and society”.

The implementation of the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) at SBE, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, is carried out continuously as part of the institution’s commitment to fostering a quality culture and continuous improvement. AMI serves as an important instrument for monitoring the achievement of academic and non-academic standards and evaluating the effectiveness of learning processes, governance, research, and community services activities. Through a systematic and participatory evaluation process, SBE continuously encourages each study program to engage in reflection, follow-up actions, and innovation in improving educational quality.

The consistent implementation of AMI has significantly enhance quality enhancement within SBE. Various study programs have gradually achieved the highest national accreditation status; “Unggul”, and strengthened their readiness for international recognition, including alignment with AACSB accreditation standards. The sustainability of AMI implementation has also become an important foundation for ensuring that academic processes and governance practices remain aligned with global quality standards while strengthening SBE’s position as an adaptive, innovative, and internationally competitive business school.

Since January 2026, SBE has also received several benchmarking visits from universities both within and outside of Jakarta. These visits serve as external recognition of the quality assurance practices implemented at SBE.
