Collaboration

Universitas Prasetiya Mulya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding and become a partner on the project of READI on April 11th, 2017.

READI (Risk Management, Economics Sustainability, and Actuarial Science Development in Indonesia) Project is a project by Waterloo University of Canada with support from the Canadian government (The Government of  Canada provided through Global Affairs Canada) dan Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK).

The purpose of this project is to enhance the quantity and the quality of graduates Actuarial Science in Indonesia. READI project intends to strengthen human resources and sustainable of economics development in a fair opportunity and give support for the recruitment, education, and involvement of professional Actuaries.

Co-Op Program

The Co-op Program provides students with the opportunity to gain work experience directly related to their field of study. Its primary objective is to equip students with hands-on experience in applying the knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world professional practice. Through the Co-op Program, students will obtain at least one year of professional work experience upon graduation.

Graduates in Indonesia currently face significant challenges, as higher education credentials alone no longer guarantee easy access to employment. One of the key challenges is increased competition with foreign professionals from ASEAN countries as a result of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

Today, many companies seek graduates who possess relevant work experience. Therefore, graduates are expected not only to achieve strong academic performance but also to be job-ready and equipped with solid professional skills in order to compete with graduates from around the world.

The Co-op Program enables students to gain a minimum of one year of work experience that aligns with their area of expertise. Students alternate between work terms and study terms, creating a continuous and integrated learning experience.

During their work terms, Co-op students are regarded as professional employees and are entrusted with appropriate responsibilities and rights comparable to those of full-time employees.

Testimonial

During my approximately four years of study in the Business Mathematics program at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, one of the most valuable experiences I continue to benefit from is the Co-op Program. Being given the opportunity to undertake four-month internships at various companies of our choice was a significant investment in my personal and professional development, as it allowed me to gain early exposure to real working environments. As a result, after graduating, I built a strong professional network and was able to adapt more easily to the workplace. Overall, Business Mathematics at Prasmul truly supports its students—not only through classroom learning, but also by providing hands-on experience in the professional world. Thank you, BM Prasmul!
