Assurance of Learning (AoL)

Assurance of Learning (AoL)

Assurance of Learning (AoL) is the primary approach employed by the School of Business and Economics (SBE) to ensure that every student achieves the intended learning outcomes. In accordance with AACSB standards, AoL is implemented through a continuous improvement cycle that includes the establishment of competency goals, measurement through direct and indirect assessments, data-driven evaluation, and a closing-the-loop process as a mechanism for continuous improvement. This approach ensures alignment among curriculum design, teaching methods, and professional needs, enabling graduates not only to excel academically but also to remain relevant and adaptable in addressing real-world challenges.

The implementation of AoL across all study programs within SBE demonstrates a strong commitment to educational quality enhancement. Assessment processes are conducted comprehensively using structured rubrics, the involvement of external evaluators, and the integration of experiential learning initiatives such as the Community Development (COMDEV) program. Evaluation results are actively utilized in the closing-the-loop process, leading to various curriculum enhancements, including strengthened course content, additional practical case studies, and mentoring programs. These continuous efforts reflect the institution’s commitment to creating an excellent, relevant, and impactful learning environment that supports the development of student competencies.
